A dream

This project was born in the historic Pellini atelier in Milan, a place where time seems to slow down and the boundary between the art of the past and the present becomes almost imperceptible. Being there, I found myself thinking of the Parisian studios of artists from another time. And in Francesca’s face, I saw the women of Renaissance paintings: a delicate profile, a serene gaze, a silence that seems to hold an inner movement. I was  interested in telling a story and in capturing a moment between dream and reality, between a living person and an image that could have existed on canvas centuries ago.

At some point, I realised that what I had read about in books and been inspired by for so long was happening right there, in front of me. Only instead of a paintbrush, I had a camera in my hands.
